About Vicky
Vicky (left) and Eileen Hall,
Originally from the UK, Vicky Turner has called Australia home since the late 1990s. A student of Ashtanga Yoga since 2005, Vicky’s main teacher and mentor is Eileen Hall, herself a student and certified Ashtanga & Iyengar teacher and practitioner for 45 years, who Vicky met in 2008.
Vicky has also been influenced by other teachers and lineages and spent time in India practicing with Rolf Naujokat in addition to numerous visits to Mysore and the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute, the home of Ashtanga Yoga.
Vicky began assisting Eileen in 2011 and has supported her on and off over the years since then. She started teaching in 2013 after formally quitting a corporate career, and travelled & taught throughout Asia, India and the Middle East for several years,. She took a break in 2018 to focus on her own process, practice and study.
Vicky’s interest in Yoga is as a deeply curious and dedicated student/practitioner first and she is in deep relationship with the unfolding of her own journey with yoga. Vicky is passionate about preserving the yoga traditions and transmitting the teachings wholistically to include an invitation to the deeper aspects beyond the physical postural yoga we mostly know in the western yoga world today. She continues her enquiry and studies with Eileen Hall, Christopher Wallis (Non Dual Shaiva Tantra) and others.
Located in Melbourne, Vicky and her partner Michael also run events and workshops in the Relational Arts, including Circling, ‘The Yoga of Interpersonal Relationships’. Vicky spends her spare time reading, sifting through op shops and walking & cycling to explore Melbourne’s diverse landscape (and enjoying the amazing coffee !)
